Hurricane season is a fact of life in South Florida. Colonial Ridge Club reminds all shareholders to stay vigilant and prepared for the annual hurricane season — officially from June 1 to November 30.

Each Building Corporation is required to assign a Hurricane Liaison to assist our designated Hurricane Coordinator in securing the community in the event of a hurricane or other severe weather event.

Steps CRMC and every Building Corporation must take:

  • Make sure trees are trimmed from wires before June 1

  • Coconuts must be taken down before June 1

  • Pool furniture, bikes, grills, etc. need to be placed inside

  • Gates: Remove arm from Beach Gate (Old Ocean Boulevard) and open gates to A1A (North Ocean Boulevard)

  • Make sandbags available if necessary

Steps every Shareholder should take when a hurricane is imminent:

  • Outdoor furniture, belongings and decorations must be moved indoors

  • Planters secured

  • All windows and doors closed; if your unit has hurricane shutters, they need to be closed

  • No dumpsters allowed on property during impending storms — any dumpster must be removed at Shareholder’s expense

We must all work together to keep our community safe and secure during hurricane season.
